Engineering Building, Leek College
The Engineering building is the first phase of a campus redevelopment for Buxton and Leek College, designed by Hunt Architects. The building was conceived as an exciting learning environment with sustainability at the core of its design and functionality and is designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating. The two-storey building provides engineering and carpentry & joinery workshops, a STEM lab, together with dedicated LLDD facilities.
Designed whilst Andy Hunt was a partner with Hunt Feneley, the project is a result of a successful application for Enhanced Renewal Grant funding through the Skills Funding Agency. We worked closely with the college management team to develop and refine the educational case helping them to meet the assessment criteria.
Hunt Architects was appointed by the main contractor under a Design and Build contract.
